Upper West Side – New York
Some of the city’s first luxury apartments were built here around the turn of the century. The area is home to a diverse cross – section of people representative of the city as a whole.
The avenues are quiet and residential, but close to shopping and transportation. The extension of the subway above 59th Street prompted many developers to take interest in the Upper West Side.
Here they created grand lobbies, high ceilings, and 10-12 room apartments with beauty that befits the area.
The Northern tip of the Upper West Side, known as Mornignside Heights is home to Columbia University. This area as one of the most desirable areas in recent years, yet can still offer a little better value in real estate prices than its southern end.
